Who we are. "Nyla Care," also referred to as "Nyla," is the controller of your personal information unless stated otherwise. Contact: [email protected].
You provide:
• Account & profile: name, email, phone (optional), city, ZIP, neighborhood, family structure.
• Children details: ages and school/program (entered by a parent/guardian).
• Preferences & constraints: schedules, pod preferences, constraints (allergies, accessibility, naps).
• Content: posts, messages, polls, event info, photos (if uploaded), and feedback.
• Care/activity needs: what you seek (nanny/sitter, programs, camps, tutoring), trust signals.
• Communications: your choice to receive emails from Nyla Care.
Automatically: device/usage data (IP, device type, app version), cookies and similar tech, approximate location (e.g., from ZIP), logs/diagnostics.
From others: co-parents/relatives who add you or a child to Family Hub; users who mention/invite you; providers/programs; optional identity/credential checks by third parties with your consent.
• Provide the Services: accounts, Family Hub permissions, Pods, forums, events, matching, recommendations.
• Safety & moderation: detect abuse, enforce rules, protect users.
• Communications: service messages (e.g., reminders). Marketing emails only if you opt in to Nyla Care emails.
• Improve & personalize: understand usage, develop features, tailor suggestions.
• Legal & compliance: meet legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
Legal bases (EEA/UK): performance of contract; legitimate interests (safety, improvement); consent (e.g., marketing emails, certain cookies); legal obligation.
• With other users: per your settings (e.g., Family Hub permissions; forum posts—anonymous mode to peers with moderators able to see identity; event participation).
• With service providers: hosting, analytics, email delivery, payment processing, verification/background-check vendors (with consent where required).
• With caregivers/programs you contact or book.
• For legal reasons: to comply with law and protect rights, safety, and security.
• Business transfers: if we undergo a merger/acquisition/asset sale, your info may transfer under this Policy.
We do not sell your personal information. If we use targeted advertising or "sharing" under certain state laws, we will provide required notices and opt-outs.
Content you post in Connect forums may be visible to the community you choose. You can post anonymously; moderators may still see identity for safety. Others can copy content—share thoughtfully.
• Email preferences: opt in/out of Nyla Care emails; unsubscribe anytime.
• Privacy settings: control Family Hub visibility/permissions; choose anonymous posting.
• Cookies: browser controls and, where required, a consent banner for analytics/functional cookies.
• Access/correction/deletion: request a copy, correction, or deletion of your data (see Section 9).
Nyla is directed to adults. Parents/guardians may input child info only to coordinate care. We do not permit children to create accounts. If a child provided info without consent, contact us to remove it.
We keep data as long as needed to provide Services, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Forum content you shared may remain visible until you delete it; backups/logs are retained for a limited period.
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the data. No system is 100% secure; use strong passwords and share information thoughtfully.
Depending on where you live, you may request: access/portability, correction, deletion, and to object/restrict certain processing.
• Opt out of marketing at any time.
• California/CPRA: rights to know, delete, correct; opt-out of "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising; limit use of sensitive info. We won't discriminate for exercising your rights.
How to submit a request: Email [email protected] from your account email with your request type. We may verify identity and, where allowed, accept requests from an authorized agent with proof.
If we transfer data outside your region, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) as required by law.
We currently don't respond to "Do Not Track" signals. Where required, we provide cookie consent tools.
We may update this Policy. We'll change the effective date and, for material changes, notify you (e.g., email or in-app). Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
